Who it is aimed at
- The Level 1 Foundation Certificate in Wines (Hospitality): Candidates with their first job in hospitality. (Please note
only the hospitality strand is taught at the London Wine and Spirit Centre)
- The Level 1 Foundation Certificate in Wines (Retail): Candidates with their first job in retailing.
- Wine consumers wanting to know more about the main grape varieties and food and wine matching

Where to Study?
Entry Requirements
Students and candidates who are under the legal minimum age for the retail purchase of alcoholic beverages in the country where the examination is being held will NOT be allowed to sample any alcoholic beverages as part of their course, but this is NOT a barrier for successfully completing the qualification. (except for London Wine & Spirit School where candidates must be 18 years or over)

How to gain the qualification
You must successfully complete:
- a multiple choice paper of 30 questions
- a food and wine matching exercise
- a portfolio of tasting notes
