The Diploma is a specialist qualification where detailed knowledge is combined with commercial factors and a thorough system for the professional evaluation of wines and spirits.

Honours Diploma

The WSET Level 5 Honours Diploma is an individual research project that enables students to develop skills in research, evaluation and analysis in a wine and spirit related subject of their choice. This qualification is open to anyone holding the WSET Level 4 Diploma.



Common to all our qualifications is the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting.

The WSET is the only wine & spirit education organisation approved by the UK government as a national awarding body of vocational qualifications. WSET Awards also co-ordinate the annual selection of outstanding candidates to be presented with industry sponsored Scholarships.

As independent evidence of the achievement of these objectives, WSET Awards has put in place a Quality Management system that complies to the International Standard BS EN ISO 9001:2000 thereby establishing a systematic framework for continuous quality improvement.
