Ahead of ProWine Mumbai, join us for an exploration of Indian wines. Karan Vasani, chief winemaker at Sula Vineyards, will cover the history of wine production in India and what the wine market looks like today, including how wine consumption in India compares to other alcoholic beverages. He will then move onto looking at wine making in a sub-tropical climate and the challenges faced with this environment, and how this affects the final product and quality.

The new series of 60-minute webinars are ideal for beginners looking to learn more about wine.

Karan Vasani, Chief Winemaker, Sula Vineyards 

Karan is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Winemaker of Sula Vineyards, India's largest and most successful winery.

Wine is a lifelong passion for Karan who left behind a successful career as a Financial Analyst to pursue his wine dream! He studied Viticulture and Oenology at Lincoln University, New Zealand and has worked harvests in New Zealand, Australia and California. He has now been working with Sula for over 10 years.

For Karan, India is the most exciting place in the world to make wine, they are in the process of experimenting, discovering and exploring their terroir. Quality has been improving rapidly. They began a little over two decades ago and have barely scratched the surface.
